If you are looking for any general information, kindly review the questions below before calling the clinic. For non-emergencies or non-urgent inquiries, you can contact the clinics via secure messaging. Click here for Spruce Medical, or click here for Kitchener Walk-In Clinic (KWIC). Thank you.

  • What is a walk-in clinic?
A walk-in clinic is a healthcare facility that offers medical services on a walk-in basis, meaning that patients do not need to schedule an appointment in advance. They are intended for non-emergency medical issues, not for life-threatening conditions. Walk-in clinics play an important role in providing accessible and convenient primary care services to individuals who do not have a regular family doctor or are unable to schedule an appointment with their regular physician.
  • How does it differ from an emergency room?
An emergency room is intended for life-threatening conditions and emergencies, while walk-in clinics are intended for non-emergency medical issues.
  • What services do walk-in clinics offer?
Walk-in clinics offer a variety of services such as treating minor illnesses and injuries, providing vaccinations and physical examinations, and testing for certain medical conditions. You can access the list of services provided by our Walk-In Clinics by clicking on the "Service" button or by visiting https://walkinclinicnear.me/services .
  • What are the hours of operation and are the clinics open on the weekend?
Our walk-in hours of operation vary by site. The Walk-In Clinic in Waterloo is open Monday to Saturday; and Walk-In Clinic in Kitchener is open from Monday to Friday. Hours of operation are subject to change and are reflected on individual clinic's websites. Please visit www.SpruceMedical.ca or www.KitchenerWalkin.ca for updates, announcements, and important clinic information before arriving at the clinics.
  • Can I make an appointment before coming to the clinic?
It's not necessary to make an appointment. Since walk-in clinics are for non-emergency medical care, services are provided on first come first serve walk-in basis. If your condition deteriorates during your wait, please call 911 or advise our staff to contact the emergency services for an ambulance.
  • What is the wait time at walk-in clinics?
Our wait times vary throughout the day and change within a matter of minutes. Please do not call our front desk to ask for wait times.
  • Can walk-in clinics prescribe medication?
Walk-in clinics do prescribe medications, however, some medications can only be prescribed by a doctor you regularly visit, your family physician or a doctor at a hospital. Please visit one of our clinics to see the doctor and discuss your healthcare needs.
